Corporate Interiors at Kandivali
Status: Conceptual
The project called for designing the corporate office space for two separate family businesses to be run from the same premises. The two would share some facilities but their work spaces were to be kept different. Also, the location of the cabin for the family patriarch was previously fixed to make it vastu-compliant as per the clients' wishes.
The cabins for the proprietors and managers were placed along the internal walls, thus leaving the rest of the space to be designed as an open plan to make use of the large windows along the remaining two walls of the space. The conference room is placed almost randomly in this open space as a large, oval object whose profile imparts some curvilinear contours to an otherwise rectilinear space. The separation of the two businesses is represented merely by two separate rows of workstations, in the interest of not fragmenting the large space.
